Hello friends of City Ranch,

Given the closures and restrictions imposed on schools, businesses, and other organizations in the region due to the COVID-19 pandemic, City Ranch is limiting operations during what is typically our busy season serving youth in the Greater Baltimore area. We have also postponed our fundraising event, originally scheduled to take place April 4th at Pimlico Racecourse.

This decision was not made due to any potential for disease transmission from our animals. Per the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), "no animals in the United States have been identified with the virus, and there is no evidence that [domesticated animals] can contract or spread COVID-19."

The limited programming will last until guidelines are lifted, which some estimate to last through the summer.

However, we still need to provide for our equine friends.

Keeping a herd of 21 horses is no small feat. The vets and farriers need to continue to maintain the health of our herd, and the hay and feed deliveries need to continue to be made.

Therefore, I am asking for our supporters to contribute what they can for the next 3 months to help cover the expenses for the care and keeping of our horses. For your consideration, $45 pays for a farrier to trim one horse's hooves, and $60 pays for one bale of hay. Please click this link to donate through our secure PayPal platform.

We will continue to serve small events as outlined by the best practices set forth by the CDC and directives by the Maryland Governor.

If you need to contact us we can be reached through the Contact Us form on our website, or by phone at 410-456-2195.

Our hearts are with those near and far who have been affected, and we look forward to serving the community

Horseback Riding with a Purpose

City Ranch, Inc.

City Ranch, Inc. is a Maryland non-profit, community equestrian educational organization founded in 2007.

Through our partnership with local schools, we introduce children to character-building opportunities in horsemanship, and bring the joy of horseback riding to the urban environment. We challenge all of our students to succeed and put some fun in the communities while doing it!

We work to reintroduce horsemanship throughout Baltimore City and surrounding counties through a variety of educational programs. We offer horseback riding lessons, school programs and therapy riding, pony parties, and workshops in horsemanship and horse care.

Contact Us to book City Ranch for an upcoming event.
